About Us

JoAnne Feeney, Ph.D.

JoAnne combines her background as an academic economist with her experience in the semiconductor industry as senior business strategist for Albany NanoTech to create a unique approach to covering semiconductor equities.  With her economics perspective, she exams high-level drivers of global IT spending, the forces pushing the expansion of electronic content across multiple industries, and the shifts in the competitive structure of markets. From the technology side, JoAnne takes a ground-level approach to research, digging into technology developments with a wide range of industry players – from designers to materials and equipment suppliers and from component makers to retail distributors – to assess both long-term and short-term prospects for the companies she covers.

JoAnne has launched High Peaks Analytics to bring economics, technology, and finance skills together to assess investment opportunities across several areas of the semiconductor sector:

  • Logic and mixed signal companies such as Intel (INTC), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Nvidia (NVDA), Microchip (MCHP), and IDT (IDTI);
  • Power-management-focused analog companies including Texas Instruments (TXN), Linear Tech (LLTC), Maxim (MXIM), Intersil (ISIL), and Volterra (VLTR);
  • RF/Analog/Optical providers such as Avago (AVGO), Skyworks (SWKS), RF Micro Devices (RFMD), and TriQuint (TQNT);
